Barry McGhan (President)
Barry is the Founder of the Center for Public School Renewal. He also
teaches part-time at a community college and does contracted program
evaluations. Barry retired from the Flint Schools, where he was the
Coordinator of Mathematics and Consultant for Evaluation. He also
taught secondary school mathematics in traditional and alternative
programs, and served as an instructional computer specialist. He has
Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in mathematics, and a Ph.D. in the
social foundations of education.
Leonard Thomas (Secretary/Treasurer)
Len worked for several years as the Director of the Whaley Historical
Home (a local Flint landmark) after retiring from the Flint Schools,
where he was Coordinator of Educational Media Services. Since leaving
the Whaley Home he has become an active volunteer in a number of
community organizations and events. He also taught elementary school
and served as an instructional media specialist. He has Bachelors'
and Masters' degrees in education.
